Companies Registry extends the closure of office located on 14th floor of Queensway Government Offices
The Companies Registry (CR) announced today (February 20) that its office located on 14/F, High Block, Queensway Government Offices (QGO) will continue to be closed from tomorrow (February 21) until further notice, after a staff of its contractor has tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. The same office has been closed since February 18 due to a suspected case of a staff member of the CR.
Customers are advised to deliver documents and fees electronically at the e-Registry (www.eregistry.gov.hk) or via "CR eFiling" mobile application, by post or deposit them at the drop-in-box on the deck floor of QGO.
The contractor staff concerned works as a security guard in the Public Service Hall (Hall) of CR on 14/F, High Block, QGO. She last worked in the Hall on February 17. She has been wearing face masks and following infection control measures at work. Her body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening at work and she did not have any symptoms. She has no recent travel history.
The CR has arranged for all staff of the same floor to undergo COVID-19 testing and work from home until a negative test result is obtained. Thorough cleansing and disinfection of the premises concerned has been completed. The CR will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health in taking appropriate follow-up actions.
During the pandemic, the CR has been strictly implementing various infection control measures, including providing masks and other personal protective equipment for staff, and stepping up the cleaning and disinfection measures for the working environment. Staff members have been reminded to pay attention to their personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times, and advised to seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
