Prosecution Case Details

In January 2019, a responsible person of STM TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (CR No. 1869212) (“the Company”), namely, the director of the corporate director of the Company, was prosecuted by the Companies Registry and convicted for 4 counts of charges at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts (i) under section 662(1) of the Companies Ordinance, Cap. 622 (“the Ordinance”) for the Company’s failure to file the annual returns of the company for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018; and (ii) under sections 457(2) and 458(5) of the Ordinance for the Company’s failure to comply with a Direction given by the Registrar of Companies requiring the Company to appoint at least one director who is a natural person. A total fine of $58,000 was imposed by the Court.
