Prosecution Case Details

In January 2018, a director of CONVOY CHINA FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED (CR No. : 1284728) ("the Company"), was prosecuted by the Companies Registry and convicted at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts (i) under section 610(1) of the Companies Ordinance, Cap. 622 ("the Ordinance") for failing to hold annual general meeting of the Company for the financial year 2015 within 9 months after the end of the accounting reference period and (ii) under section 429(1) of the Ordinance for failing to take all reasonable steps to lay before the Company in its annual general meeting a copy of the 2015 financial statements, directors’ report and auditor’s report on those financial statements within 9 months after the end of the accounting reference period of the financial year 2015. The Court imposed fines of $4,000 and $10,000 for the two offences respectively. A total fine of $14,000 was imposed.
