The “Life Buddies” Scheme is a cross-sectoral career-focused project organised by the Commission on Poverty (CoP) to broaden the exposure and social network of youth from disadvantaged background and enhance social upward mobility, thereby alleviating intergenerational poverty. The Companies Registry (CR) has supported the Scheme since the launch of the Scheme in 2015 and offered “job tasting” opportunities for a total of 17 students from four secondary schools. Under the Job Tasting Programme, students were able to gain first-hand experience in real life work setting.
Miss Wendy Ma, Registry Manager (Trust and Company Service Providers), represented the CR to participate in the “Life Buddies” 2019/20 Launching Ceremony on 21 September 2019 and received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Chief Secretary for Administration and Chairperson of CoP, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, in recognition of CR’s support of the Job Tasting Programme 2019.
